Hello Hello! It is almost time to wrap up our first month of Scrap RDV on our new blog and we have reached 62 Followers! Let me start this post by shouting a HUGE "Thank You" to all and each of you! I know that Agata and Virginie are just as thrilled as I am. You Guys rock!
Bonjour bonjour!
Today, I'd like to continue talking about the different ways one can recycle a shopping bag but before I show you my humble idea, look what I stumbled upon the other day while walking through Marshall Field's ( Macy's if one must call it that way ;-)
That my Friend is either brillant RE-cycling or a shameful waste!
Remember this bag?
Vous vous souvenez de ce sac?
I punched a few borders and flowers to use as embellishments:
To give more movement to the petals, I rolled each of them on a skewer:
Here I turned the paper from the shopping bag into small packages and pockets. The edges of the gift pockets are sewn together and the orange one has a stamp from Fancy pants ( white ink: ColorBox )
You still have time to participate, we'll come back this week-end to talk about your take on the challenge. Thanks Guys!
This is the story of 3 Friends from 3 different countries who enjoy sharing their love for scrapbooking with their readers.

FROM A SHOPPING BAG TO A SCRAPBOOK PAGE
Hello! Alexandra here, in my previous post I showed a mini made with the exterior of a paper bag. This time, I'm still drawing my inspiration from a shopping bag but I'm not interested by its exterior...
Bonjour!
It might be a cool bag if you like orange, which I do, but look at its inside pattern, it's even cooler:
I opened the bag, ironed the paper and thought it would make a pretty cool foundation paper for a layout. The fun thing about this page is that it's about Lily playing "store", actually she's spent the better part of August setting up her store that she's named "The Cool Store".
journaling: this month of August, Gallianne Lily has been very busy with her store. She has named it "The Cool Store" because she thinks Michael's is a cool store and she wants hers to be just like it. In her store, Lily sells handmade goodies and her dream is that someday, she has so many customers that they create a line at her cash register. When she grows up, lily says she'll have a real "cool store" with "real money".
Below is the paper I have left, I hope you've enjoyed today's post and that you'll come back to see what I made with the leftovers!
Thank you!
Merci!

HOW TO MAKE A DOS-A-DOS BOOK OUT OF A PAPER BAG
Hello there! This is alexandra and today, to illustrate our current topic of "around the house" I thought we'd make a "dos-à-dos" book out of a colorful paper shopping bag.
Bonjour!
Strictly speaking, the "dos-à-dos" ( = back-to-back ) is a structure rather than a binding. The two book blocks share the same cover but face in opposite directions.
TUTO:
1. Choose a paper bag and open it carefully so as not to tear it. I used an iron ( no water ) to flatten the paper. I cut two 13 1/2 x 6 3/4 " pieces of paper and scored at 4 1/2 inches two times ( 1 mountain / 1 valley fold ) and then, I glued them together.
2. I used old textbook pages for the inside pages ( 8 3/4 x 6 3/4 " ) and fold them in two.
3. Take one batch and position it inside one of the cover folds. With an awl, pierce 3 holes through the paper and card: 1 in the center and 2 at equal distances. With a thread 3 times the length of your spine, draw it through the center hole. Click HERE to see how to make a pamphlet - stitch.
4. Decorate your cover. Below is a view of the finished project:
Décorez votre couverture. Voilà un dos-à-dos fini:
I hope this inspires you to play with your shopping bags. Have a great week-end!
