Aujourd'hui, nous avons le plaisir et l'honneur d'acceuillir Heather. Heather est australienne mais vit avec sa famille au Canada depuis bientot 13 ans. Peinture, couture, dessin, patchwork, Heather a toujours aimé tout ce qui touchait de près ou de loin aux loisirs créatifs mais c'est la carterie qui retient toute son attention...Heather nous propose un super tuto très explicite grace à ses nombreux visuels...

Although I have lived in Canada for nearly thirteen years I was born and raised in Australia. My husband, our two daughters and I moved to Canada seven weeks before my son was born. I have always loved arts and crafts; I currently sew, stamp, draw, paint, knit and print but have also dabbled in quilting, embroidery, beading, spinning  and weaving. My main creative pursuit at present is definitely card making as there are so many possibilities for completing a mini "artwork" in one sitting! My days are spent teaching and supporting my children in their sporting, musical and school activities.

My stamping style has evolved quite considerably over the years, most recently becoming cleaner and simpler. I am currently a member of the Penny Black design team, a host of the One Layer Wednesday challenge and creator of the blog Bits & Pieces

Here is a mini tutorial for a simple masked card tutorial

1. When making a masked card I use post-it notes and line up the edges of my card base on a cutting mat to help me position the masks evenly.

2. To create a horizon I cut a curved hill shaped mask, position it and sponge blue for the sky.

3. I use the same mask for the hills, sponging green from the mask edge towards the sky.

4. I reposition the mask and sponge again for every hill I want to create.

5. Before removing the mask I stamp some blossoms off the edge of the panel.

6. After removing the mask I stamp the blossoms again this making sure the branch overhangs the edge of the masked panel just a little. ( I repositioned the hill mask before stamping the blossoms so that the tree would appear to be behind a little hill) Finally I add a sentiment.
